“Fake it  until  you make it.

Toni Reyes, The story behind the myth
38 years devoted to Real Estate, festivals, charity and more.

Toni Reyes is originally from San Pedro Sula, Honduras and has been living in Canada for decades.

Reyes knows that many immigrants will continue to arrive in Canada and she says that she tries to assist them in any way, mainly by providing the best guidance possible. “To all my Latino brothers who are arriving, please focus on your goals, do not get lost on your way,” she said. “Remember what brought you here. Dreams are not made in Canada; it’s goals and determinations that we have in mind.”

Reyes is firm with her goals and knows that immigrants must not lose focus if they want to have success in anything they do. Canada is filled with opportunities, and it’s important to achieve success the right way. Reyes says that Latinos are hard workers, with vision and ambition, that is why it will be easy to achieve success.

Throughout her career Reyes has met many people, and she admires those that are professional and humble, because she considers humility to be the most important ingredient in growing and succeeding in life.

She has promoted 38 years of “Say no to rent,” because she believes people should be purchasing their own property. She does this through real estate seminars, where she motivates people to buy their own home, emphasising how homeownership is needed to get ahead in this country.

Besides helping her clients purchase their dream homes, she helps little kids in Honduras through her Foundation Toni Reyes, where she has cared for 63 children and created orphanages. Although her life is rather busy, (she also hosts a radio show) when she does have spare time she enjoys flower arranging,  cooking Honduran-style food and spending time with her two dogs.

She advises all newcomers not to fear the future and to focus their energy on whatever goal they want to reach. She believes it’s important to “Fake it until you make it.” If you pretend to be the best, you will end up being the best.
